2011- A year ahead

As we look to understand and learn from 2010, it is now 2011.  Imagin3 Energy Solutions has quickly become a recognized name in Grand County.  Recently awarded the Kremmling Library Energy Study, that GC BEDA has written a grant for.  Also Continuing the training at Mi Casa after a very successful 2010.

Imagin3 has been beta testing the Performance upgrade work on existing homes and is seeing results that vary, but overall a wonderful test in ability, solutions and efficiency.

Sustainability has taken a new seat within the organization as I now have an 8 month old girl that is looking to my wife and I for guidance in this new world.  Well I have taken on the responsibility of protecting the world around her and want to sustain a future for her in how I run my business and the decisions that we make.

It is deep winter here in Fraser and we are feeling the cold around us.  Our house has become a testing ground for comfort, efficiency and health indoor air as I begin the performance upgrade work on a home built only 10 years ago.  Results will follow.

I thank God for the opportunities that exist all around and encourage those whom want to be involved with what we are doing to contact me.  We can share a chair lift discussion and "change our world."

A lot has happened
Ok time to keep up with this blog.  It is a good record keeper.

Officially a RESnet Rater.  A certified Infra red Thermographer.  An EarthWise landscape and service owner.  Soon to be a dad.  A just flat out happy guy.

Energy Consulting has really been a great winter time education process, working with local builders, architects and owners and it feels great!

This march I am teaching a class with Mi Casa Resource center on Energy Audits, sutainability and efficiency first.

RESNET TRAINING March 2009
In the past three months I have been concentrating on "efficiency first" with both new construction and existing homes.  I have recently completed A RESNET (Residential Energy Systems Network www.natresnet.org ) rater training through Energy Logic ( www.nrglogic.com ) in Berthoud Colorado.

The intense 6 day class focused on buildings as a system, building science, blower door usage and diagnosis and home energy inspections/analysis.  rater_seal_small.gif

The "SYSTEM APPROACH" is the concept that there are 3 importanat factors within any building or structure and to treat all three as a system that functions according to the balance found within them.

The components of the systems approach are:
The Structure
The Equipment and Systems
The Occupants

The main objective of this Education is to provide analysis and education to existing homeowners, in order to help provide solutions.
Imagin3 Energy Solutions will focus on these GOALS:

1.      Provide in-depth research, analysis and resources to set a “benchmark” study (Audit) on the home or building.

2.      Utilizing the benchmark study (Audit):  Provide insight, knowledge and education to the client on how their energy is utilized, consumed and possibly wasted.

3.      To define each unique (client specific) energy puzzle and provide education and awareness to then prioritize solutions to solve the puzzle.

4.      Develop bid proposals to complete necessary retrofit, renovation or weatherization work (Partnership up with Boxwell Construction)

5.      Provide the resources, management and knowledge to perform the work.

6.      Help people Achieve greater energy efficiency and sustainability.

7.      Our Goal helps owners save valuable energy, and money on utility bills while also protecting the environment.

8.      Quality Assurance and non-biased research on all analysis.
